Autumn Tea Vibes 🍵 iTeaworld’s Chinese Tea Sampler

Finally got my hands on some authentic Chinese tea here in the U.S.! This sampler includes four types of oolong teas, perfect for cozy autumn brewing sessions.

The packaging is thoughtfully designed with a classic Chinese aesthetic—simple yet elegant in tea-colored and white tones. Each tea comes in a convenient single-serving pack (5g), just right for brewing a cup at a 1:15-25 ratio. It also includes handy transparent tea bags; just pop in the leaves, flip the top, and you’re good to brew! Plus, the tea stays fragrant even after 2-3 steeps.

Tried all four varieties, and each one impressed me with its distinct aroma:

Da Hong Pao (Big Red Robe): The most famous and classic oolong, known for its rich and bold aroma with a signature “rocky” flavor. The leaves brew into a deep brown tea.

Tie Guan Yin (Iron Goddess of Mercy): My personal favorite! It’s lighter and fresher compared to Da Hong Pao, with tightly rolled leaves that unfurl beautifully during steeping.

Phoenix Dan Cong & Zhangping Shui Xian: These were new to me! Dan Cong has a fruity aroma with more complexity, while Shui Xian leans floral and is softer. Both have a naturally sweet finish.

Overall, I highly recommend this set, whether as a gift or for personal enjoyment. The tea brews into a clear, clean liquor with no broken leaves—great quality! Plus, they provide brewing instructions for temperature, time, and ratio, which is super helpful for beginners.

🍵 iTeaworld | First Sip of Oolong for the Start of Winter

I ordered iTeaworld’s new Oolong Tea Sampler this time!
As someone who’s relatively new to tea, I usually stick to jasmine green tea and only pick up whatever familiar brand or variety I come across. But this time, a friend recommended this sampler, and I had no idea there were so many types of oolong tea! Besides Da Hong Pao (which I’ve tried before), this set let me explore a wide range of oolong teas in one go.

Delivery & Packaging:
The shipping was super fast, and everything arrived in perfect condition.
I have to praise the packaging—it’s easily the most elegant tea box I’ve ever received. The traditional Chinese ink-style design feels so authentic. It’d make a great gift for friends, especially those abroad (I can totally see my foreign friends loving this, lol).

Unboxing:
Inside the box, there’s a small guidebook that introduces the four teas included:

Zhangping Shuixian
Tie Guan Yin
Phoenix Dancong
Da Hong Pao
These represent different roasting and fermentation levels of classic Chinese oolongs. The tea leaves are intact, not crushed, and each type comes with a description of its appearance and brewing properties. The guidebook also explains Gongfu tea brewing methods and how to “wake up” the tea.

Bonus Items:
They’ve even included 20 biodegradable corn fiber tea bags, so you can easily enjoy the convenience of tea bags while still savoring premium loose-leaf tea.

Brand Background:
iTeaworld stems from a company with 20+ years of experience in the Chinese tea industry. In 2022, they officially entered the international market, selling via their independent website and Amazon. Their mission is to help tea beginners explore the world of tea with thoughtfully curated educational samplers, guiding them through different tea types and subtle flavor profiles.

I love this concept. As someone who doesn’t usually drink oolong tea, I found myself flipping through the guide to learn more about each variety. It feels like I’ve opened the door to a new world and grown increasingly curious about tea.

Value for Money:
The sampler is priced at $39.99 for 20 packs (5g each, 4 varieties, 5 packs per variety). With the current 15% discount on their website, it’s a great deal considering the high-quality, renowned tea varieties. Whether for personal enjoyment or as a gift, it’s excellent value for money.

Tea Profiles:

Phoenix Dancong (medium fermentation): Known for its distinctive aroma, often called the “tea of fragrance.” This Dancong has floral and honey notes, smooth texture, and a unique fruit-honey-toast combo that makes it stand out.
Da Hong Pao (Qi Dan) (high fermentation): One of China’s top ten teas and a must-try oolong. This one is rich, with light mineral notes and a sweet aftertaste. The Qi Dan Da Hong Pao is handcrafted with osmanthus aroma, smooth texture, and a delightful mix of roasted nuts, caramel, and mineral flavors.
Zhangping Shuixian (medium fermentation): A unique compressed oolong with high collectibility. Handmade with traditional charcoal roasting, it offers a distinct floral-fruity aroma with a hint of smokiness. Smooth and refreshing, with a lingering aftertaste.
Tie Guan Yin (light fermentation): Another of China’s top ten teas, and a classic lightly oxidized oolong. This Tie Guan Yin is packed with orchid fragrance, creamy texture, and a honey-butter finish, leaving a sweet aftertaste.
Taste Experience:
I don’t have any fancy tea tools at home, so I started with Phoenix Dancong. I like to turn my tea into a homemade milk tea by adding milk and a bit of honey. Surprisingly, this tea’s natural floral and honey notes made it absolutely delicious!

Tried Four New Oolong Teas Today~🍵

I just received the new iTeaWorld Oolong Tea package I ordered, and as a tea lover, I’m absolutely thrilled!

This new oolong series includes 4 different teas with varying levels of roast and fermentation, totaling 100g, with 5 sachets of each flavor. The individual packaging is both cute and elegant, so I couldn’t wait to brew a cup!

Tie Guan Yin: It’s refreshing and smooth, with a nice layered taste when you sip it carefully.

Da Hong Pao: Super rich and full-bodied, with a sweet aftertaste—definitely my favorite!

Phoenix Dancong: It has a strong floral fragrance and gives a nice pick-me-up.

Zhangping Shui Xian: It’s refreshing with floral and fruity notes, and leaves a smooth, sweet aftertaste.

The packaging of this set is really well thought out, with individual tea bags, so you can either brew loose leaf tea or enjoy the convenience of bagged tea. It’s perfect for both home use or when you’re out and about! It would also make a lovely gift!

This new iTeaworld Oolong Tea set is a real blessing for tea lovers!

🫖 Product Overview:

The iTeaworld Oolong Tea gift box includes four popular and classic oolong teas with different roast levels: Tie Guan Yin, Zhangping Shui Xian, Phoenix Dancong, and Da Hong Pao. Each comes in 5 small packets, totaling 20 packets with individual packaging.

🫖 Packaging:

The packaging of this oolong series is really impressive. The design, from the window on the outer box to the way the inner box opens, shows the designer's attention to detail. The kraft paper material paired with Chinese art really captures the essence of Kung Fu tea. Each packet is the perfect amount for one brew, and it even includes detailed brewing instructions on the back, which is a nice touch.

The set also comes with 20 filter bags, so you can enjoy Chinese tea even when you don’t have the right tools for Kung Fu tea. Whether you’re a busy office worker or out on a trip, you can still enjoy a great cup of tea and have a good day!

🫖 Brewing Method:

For oolong tea, especially this high-quality kind, I highly recommend using a teapot or gaiwan to really savor it. If you don’t have the time or tools, using a filter cup is fine, but make sure to brew it in multiple short infusions. Oolong tea is semi-fermented, so slightly higher water temperatures are fine, but be sure to control the brewing time. The color of the tea soup will help you judge, and the first brew can be a bit longer. Usually, 3-4 brews is about right.

🫖 Product Experience:

As someone who has been a tea lover for many years, I’ve tried a fair amount of oolong tea. While I don’t drink oolong all the time, I always keep some Taiwanese oolong and Da Hong Pao at home for variety. I was really impressed when I opened this set. The tea leaves are of high quality, and after brewing, the tea is clear and bright. With each infusion, the taste evolves, offering a layered and rich experience.

I tried Zhangping Shui Xian for the first time, and I learned that it's the only pressed oolong in the set. It has a unique floral fragrance, just like its name, and the taste is smooth with a nice aftertaste.

I also noticed that iTeaworld has a pretty full range of teas. Besides oolong, they offer green tea, black tea, white tea, and Pu-erh, among others. I usually drink jasmine and Pu-erh, so I’m planning to try their other teas next time. The quality is definitely impressive!

Authentic Traditional Chinese Loose Leaf Tea in the U.S.! | iTeaworld's Four New Oolong Teas

As a tea lover, I was absolutely blown away by iTeaworld’s new Oolong Tea Tasting Set featuring four incredible flavors!

While I enjoy both green and black teas, oolong tea isn’t as common here in the U.S., so I rarely get the chance to drink it.

🫖 About Oolong Tea
Oolong is a semi-fermented tea, sitting somewhere between green and black tea. It has moderate caffeine content, making it a balanced choice that’s easy on the stomach. Perfect for mornings or afternoons!

Here’s my review of each tea in the set (I tried one per day). Hopefully, this helps you find your perfect match!

(Quick tip: the fermentation level affects the color and taste of the tea liquor—the more fermented, the darker and richer it gets.)

Phoenix Dan Cong
Origin: Chaozhou, Guangdong
Fermentation: Medium
Known as the "perfume of teas." The dry leaves are dark with reddish tips, and the brewed tea yields a bright amber color.
The aroma is intense, with floral and honey notes. The taste? A slightly woody, floral flavor that lingers beautifully.
Can be steeped 3-4 times.
Da Hong Pao
Origin: Wuyi Mountains, Fujian
Fermentation: Heavy
My personal favorite! The dry leaves are dark, and the tea liquor is a rich, clear reddish-orange.
It has a deep caramel flavor with a subtle hint of orchid, creating a full-bodied, robust taste. Pair it with sweets, and you’re in heaven!
Can be steeped 4-5 times—super durable!
Tie Guan Yin
Origin: Xiping Town, Anxi, Fujian
Fermentation: Light
A popular oolong, perfect for those who prefer a lighter, more floral tea. The dry leaves are deep green, thick, and tightly rolled. The liquor is a yellowish-green.
The flavor is delicate and fresh, with a faint orchid fragrance.
Can be steeped 3-4 times. Just don’t steep it too long, or it’ll get bitter.
Zhangping Shui Xian
Origin: Zhangping, Longyan, Fujian
Fermentation: Medium
This was my first time trying Zhangping Shui Xian, and wow, it blew me away!
The dry tea comes in compact square cakes—the only compressed tea in the oolong category. The leaves are a mix of green, yellow, and red, and the liquor is a clear yellow.
The taste is refreshingly floral with fruity undertones, and it leaves a sweet aftertaste.
Can be steeped 4-5 times.
Final Thoughts
From shipping to packaging to quality and flavor, iTeaworld’s Oolong Tea Set exceeded all my expectations! They’re a professional brand specializing in traditional Chinese teas.

Bonus points for their eco-friendly packaging—using recyclable paper, soy-based ink, and compostable tea bags that are super convenient for brewing on the go.

Each flavor comes with five tea bags (though my set had 4 Zhangping Shui Xian and 6 Tie Guan Yin—attention to detail could improve!).

This is a tea I’ll definitely repurchase once I finish! If you love traditional loose-leaf tea, this set is a must-try.

An oolong Journey

Absolutely blown away by the entire package. From the well-wrapped box to the art on the box and the careful packaging to ensure no damage to the leaf, everything is so well thought out. After trying out all four teas I can happily tell you this sampler box will floor you. From the deeply delicious roasted notes of the Da Hong Pao to the intense floral notes of the Tie Guanyin, the mind-boggling amalgamation of flavors and aromas in the Fenghuang Dancong, and lastly the uniqueness of the tea brick of the Zhangping Shui Xian you will find a new adventure with each one you open. I highly recommend using a gong fu set to fully experience everything this sampler has to offer.

Great teas!

Even better than 2022 teas! Da Hong Pao and Fenghuang Dancong is a bit more roasted than 2022, and the flavor profile of Shuixian is a bit different so each tea feels more separated than 2022, as they share some similar notes.
Moreover, the packaging is now even more environment-friendly as it's now almost entirely made of paper. Impressive!
