Wild Souchong Black Tea uses wild tea leaves from mountains in Guangxi Province. It uses a special tea-making method of traditional Lapsang Souchong technique. Wild Souchong Black Tea maintains the taste of Lapsang Souchong, while it has a richer flavor. Lapsang Souchong is the earliest black tea and it is called black tea originator. It has a history of 400 years. Lapsang Souchong is baked by pine needles or pine wood. As a result, it has very strong fragrance. Also, due to the bake technique, the color of the tea is grey black and the color of tea soup is dark amber.

A cup of wonder from nature!

I recently tried their Organic Smoked Wild Souchong Chinese Black Tea at iTeaworld and it was like experiencing a forest adventure! This tea comes from Longsheng, Guangxi, 50 years old tea trees, growing 800 meters high in the mountains, just these backgrounds alone made me excited about it.

Taste & Flavor:

The taste of this tea is truly unique, and with a single sip, the pure aroma of pine smoke immediately comes to the forefront, with a smooth and mellow flavor that is intoxicating. Compared to my usual Chinese Green Tea, this black tea is much more layered, and the depth from the smoky flavors enhances the overall experience perfectly. If you love the flavors of nature as much as I do, this tea is absolutely irresistible!

Untamed Elegance: Exploring the Wild Charms of Lapsang Souchong

This tea was a Wild Lapsang Souchong flavor adventure. This was a pleasant surprise as Lapsang Souchong typically isn't my go-to black tea of choice but... that may change after having tried this Wild variant. The tea offers up a complex flavor profile, with a gentle sweet finish that leads you back to taking another sip.

A great tea

A tightly twisted leaf with a dusty dark chocolate appearance. The aroma is slightly smoky with dry woody notes. The initial aroma instantly reminds me of sweet potatoes. Just mashed, no butter added. This is a well-made black tea. The flavor pops in your mouth and there is so much to experience. Sweet potatoes, slight campfire smoke, a tad bit of charcoal, a bit of fruit, woody tones, some compost, mossy earth... The mouthfeel is so smooth.

Different from any other black tea I have tried

This definitely has a very smokey smell but a very mild flavor. I had a friend test it who has black tea every day and has tried a LOT of different kinds. We were both worried about the flavor when the aroma was so incredibly smokey. We brewed a cup with much more than the normal amount of tea and the flavor was still light and delicate.

This is loose leaf tea. If this is your first loose leaf tea experience make sure you invest in a tea infuser or tea bags.
