Why Ancient Tree Black Tea Stands Out
Ancient tea trees, often over 100 years old, grow in remote, pristine mountain forests, free from synthetic fertilizers or pesticides. Their deep roots absorb rich minerals and nutrients, resulting in tea with a full-bodied, layered flavor and natural floral or honey notes.

The leaves of ancient tree black tea are thicker and more resilient, with higher levels of polyphenols and aromatic compounds, making the tea exceptionally durable in brewing. Each steep releases consistent flavor and aroma, often lasting for many infusions.

Yunnan, home to over 56 million ancient tea trees, is known as the “kingdom of ancient tea.” With the introduction of the Yunnan Ancient Tea Tree Protection Regulation in 2023, these trees are now safeguarded to ensure their heritage continues. Ancient tree black tea is a unique gem, offering both a pure taste and a connection to centuries of tradition.

Nice aroma, Nice taste, Very Pleasant Experience

Bought this particular tea after seeing a fascinating article in National Geographic about this sacred area of the world where tea trees have been admonished and protected for over 100 years. In addition, a co-worker is an experienced tea person (I would say connoisseur but what really makes a person that level?) and an owner at a local Chinese restaurant shares his tea packets with me when he returns from China. So the challenge was on to taste the best in the world. And it does rate that. I'm not a daily coffee person or a tea person but wanted to have the experience from this tea being so specially treated and revered. So my co-worker shared a spot of tea together and throughly enjoyed everything you could say about a tea; nice aroma, nice taste. A very pleasant experience. He was surprised at the care of twisting the tea leaves before further processing. He called that out as something special. Would buy again however, the recent tariff caused this to be delivered 5 weeks but worth the wait. Thank you for producing this black tea. It does deserve an article in the previously mentioned magazine. Truely special.
