Autumn Tea Vibes 🍵 iTeaworld’s Chinese Tea Sampler

Finally got my hands on some authentic Chinese tea here in the U.S.! This sampler includes four types of oolong teas, perfect for cozy autumn brewing sessions.

The packaging is thoughtfully designed with a classic Chinese aesthetic—simple yet elegant in tea-colored and white tones. Each tea comes in a convenient single-serving pack (5g), just right for brewing a cup at a 1:15-25 ratio. It also includes handy transparent tea bags; just pop in the leaves, flip the top, and you’re good to brew! Plus, the tea stays fragrant even after 2-3 steeps.

Tried all four varieties, and each one impressed me with its distinct aroma:

Da Hong Pao (Big Red Robe): The most famous and classic oolong, known for its rich and bold aroma with a signature “rocky” flavor. The leaves brew into a deep brown tea.

Tie Guan Yin (Iron Goddess of Mercy): My personal favorite! It’s lighter and fresher compared to Da Hong Pao, with tightly rolled leaves that unfurl beautifully during steeping.

Phoenix Dan Cong & Zhangping Shui Xian: These were new to me! Dan Cong has a fruity aroma with more complexity, while Shui Xian leans floral and is softer. Both have a naturally sweet finish.

Overall, I highly recommend this set, whether as a gift or for personal enjoyment. The tea brews into a clear, clean liquor with no broken leaves—great quality! Plus, they provide brewing instructions for temperature, time, and ratio, which is super helpful for beginners.

🍵 iTeaworld | First Sip of Oolong for the Start of Winter

I ordered iTeaworld’s new Oolong Tea Sampler this time!
As someone who’s relatively new to tea, I usually stick to jasmine green tea and only pick up whatever familiar brand or variety I come across. But this time, a friend recommended this sampler, and I had no idea there were so many types of oolong tea! Besides Da Hong Pao (which I’ve tried before), this set let me explore a wide range of oolong teas in one go.

Delivery & Packaging:
The shipping was super fast, and everything arrived in perfect condition.
I have to praise the packaging—it’s easily the most elegant tea box I’ve ever received. The traditional Chinese ink-style design feels so authentic. It’d make a great gift for friends, especially those abroad (I can totally see my foreign friends loving this, lol).

Unboxing:
Inside the box, there’s a small guidebook that introduces the four teas included:

Zhangping Shuixian
Tie Guan Yin
Phoenix Dancong
Da Hong Pao
These represent different roasting and fermentation levels of classic Chinese oolongs. The tea leaves are intact, not crushed, and each type comes with a description of its appearance and brewing properties. The guidebook also explains Gongfu tea brewing methods and how to “wake up” the tea.

Bonus Items:
They’ve even included 20 biodegradable corn fiber tea bags, so you can easily enjoy the convenience of tea bags while still savoring premium loose-leaf tea.

Brand Background:
iTeaworld stems from a company with 20+ years of experience in the Chinese tea industry. In 2022, they officially entered the international market, selling via their independent website and Amazon. Their mission is to help tea beginners explore the world of tea with thoughtfully curated educational samplers, guiding them through different tea types and subtle flavor profiles.

I love this concept. As someone who doesn’t usually drink oolong tea, I found myself flipping through the guide to learn more about each variety. It feels like I’ve opened the door to a new world and grown increasingly curious about tea.

Value for Money:
The sampler is priced at $39.99 for 20 packs (5g each, 4 varieties, 5 packs per variety). With the current 15% discount on their website, it’s a great deal considering the high-quality, renowned tea varieties. Whether for personal enjoyment or as a gift, it’s excellent value for money.

Tea Profiles:

Phoenix Dancong (medium fermentation): Known for its distinctive aroma, often called the “tea of fragrance.” This Dancong has floral and honey notes, smooth texture, and a unique fruit-honey-toast combo that makes it stand out.
Da Hong Pao (Qi Dan) (high fermentation): One of China’s top ten teas and a must-try oolong. This one is rich, with light mineral notes and a sweet aftertaste. The Qi Dan Da Hong Pao is handcrafted with osmanthus aroma, smooth texture, and a delightful mix of roasted nuts, caramel, and mineral flavors.
Zhangping Shuixian (medium fermentation): A unique compressed oolong with high collectibility. Handmade with traditional charcoal roasting, it offers a distinct floral-fruity aroma with a hint of smokiness. Smooth and refreshing, with a lingering aftertaste.
Tie Guan Yin (light fermentation): Another of China’s top ten teas, and a classic lightly oxidized oolong. This Tie Guan Yin is packed with orchid fragrance, creamy texture, and a honey-butter finish, leaving a sweet aftertaste.
Taste Experience:
I don’t have any fancy tea tools at home, so I started with Phoenix Dancong. I like to turn my tea into a homemade milk tea by adding milk and a bit of honey. Surprisingly, this tea’s natural floral and honey notes made it absolutely delicious!

Elegant Packaging, Even Better Tea

The box and tea packets are beautifully designed, making this a great option for gifting. But the real star is the tea itself—fresh, aromatic, and full of flavor.
