Some people are looking for caffeine-free green tea. While we currently don’t have any caffeine-free green tea, we’ve found some caffeine-free herbal teas that are made using green tea processing methods, so they share some similar flavor characteristics. These herbal teas have all been used in traditional Chinese medicine. They include the naturally sweet Sweet Tea Tree (Cyclocarya Paliurus), Rock Tea (Shi Ya Cha), which is rich in flavonoids, and Zhangjiajie Mei Tea, known for its high flavonoid content.
Jin Qian Liu:Sweet Tea Tree (Cyclocarya Paliurus)
Sweet Tea Tree (Cyclocarya Paliurus) is a deciduous tree that grows in southern China. Its leaves are used to make tea, which is popular for its natural sweetness and various health benefits. In traditional Chinese medicine, Sweet Tea Tree tea is used to support healthy blood sugar levels and is considered a natural way to help manage diabetes and promote heart health.
Wild Cliff Tea (Shi Ya Cha)
Rock Tea (Shi Ya Cha) is a rare tea that grows on the high-altitude cliffs of Guangxi, China. It’s harvested from wild tea trees that grow in the cracks of these rocky cliffs, where the soil is rich in nutrients. Known for its strong aroma and sweet taste, it’s often called “tea of the immortals.” Rock Tea is packed with flavonoids and is praised for its rich flavor, as well as its potential to boost immunity and aid digestion.
Vine Tea
Vine Tea (Ampelopsis grossedentata) is a perennial vine primarily found in Zhangjiajie, Hunan, China. It thrives at elevations of 400-1500 meters, in misty, humid conditions and special quartz sandstone soil. Originally used as a traditional Tujia medicine, Zhangjiajie Mei Tea is rich in natural active flavonoids, with its young stems and leaves containing over 30% flavonoids on average, and the tender buds having as much as 43.78%. This is why it’s called the “King of Flavonoids.”
