This Osmanthus Black Tea was freshly scented this autumn, using autumn-harvested black tea paired with autumn-blooming Bao Xin osmanthus. Through careful scenting, it carries a rich osmanthus aroma with a gentle sweetness.
Bao Xin osmanthus is often called the “royalty of osmanthus” for its exceptional quality, has layered petals and a full, rounded center. Compared with regular osmanthus, its blossoms are larger, thicker, and more fragrant. A single round of scenting is enough to infuse the tea with a strong aroma, and dried flowers are often kept in the final product to enhance the flavor.
The tea tastes warm and smooth, almost silky, with a sweet, full-bodied profile. The richness of the black tea and the clean sweetness of osmanthus complement each other, leaving a long-lasting aroma and a clear, pleasant aftertaste. It’s an excellent choice for autumn and winter, offering comforting warmth to both body and stomach.

Skillfully scented tea

What I appreciate about these teas is that they diverge from the common practice of adding artificial or natural flavorings. Instead, they utilize premium Yunnan tea, which is skillfully scented with flowers in a single round, resulting in a robust aroma that is further enhanced by the inclusion of dried flowers in the final blend.

Honeyed Perfection

Osmanthus Black Tea turned out to be my favorite of Chinese scented tea collection. This was my first experience with osmanthus, and from the moment the leaves hit the hot water, the aroma was intoxicating - creamy, softly floral, gently fruity with a touch of sweetness.

I brewed 2 grams in 200 ml at 212°F for 40 seconds, followed by a 60-second 2nd steep. Each infusion poured a beautiful brick red hue. The scent is anchored by the smooth black tea base, but what really shines through is a natural honeyed sweetness and a lush, creamy mouthfeel. There’s no bitterness or astringency here at all - just a warm, cozy cup that feels tailor-made for a cold evening.

The Chinese scented tea collection is perfection.

This tea has been supplied to me free of charge for my honest review.

Exceptional

Osmanthus Black Tea
The quality of the Yumman tea is exceptional. When I opened the bag it did not have a strong fragrence so I was surprised when sipping how flavorful it is. This tea is smooth, gentle yet flavorful.
It is worth menetioning the quality corn fiber tea bags that were provided are wonderful.

I recommend this tea for any occasion.

Crisp and Clean

There was a crisp, clean, and slight floral scent when I opened the package. I steeped the tea how I would usually brew a Yunnan tea instead of their suggested method. I brewed at 212 degrees for 5 minutes. Once steeped, the tea had a nice slightly sweet scent. It had a nice smooth and sweet taste. I added sugar and that enhanced the flavors. Great for all day sipping!
