Why We Created a Seasonal Chinese Floral & Fruit Tea Subscription

Our reason for creating this subscription is actually very simple.

We noticed that many tea lovers outside of China feel unsure about what to drink when the seasons change. The transition from fall and winter into spring and summer is especially confusing. When it comes to Chinese tea, the uncertainty feels even stronger.

We often hear people say, I drink the same tea all year.”

And that is completely understandable.

But at the same time, they often notice that teas just feel more satisfying in certain seasons.

We also observed something else. Most people, especially beginners, are more open to trying scented flower teas and herbal blends. They feel approachable, comforting, and easier to enjoy without much prior knowledge.

So we asked ourselves how we could make this easier.

We wanted to help people move beyond the question of “What should I drink now?”

We also wanted to create a gentle entry point into Chinese tea.

Inspired by the traditional Chinese ideas of seasonal wellness and living in harmony with nature, we designed a subscription centered around Chinese scented flower teas and herbal teas.

Every two months, we release one seasonal wellness tea box.

Each box includes:

  • 4 Chinese flower or fruit teas
  • 2 Chinese herbal teas
  • 6 tasting cards
  • 1 seasonal wellness guide

Every tea is carefully selected according to the characteristics of that specific season. We include fresh seasonal favorites, classic recipes, and popular traditional blends that are widely enjoyed in China.

Our goal is simple.

To make seasonal tea drinking feel natural, enjoyable, and easy to follow.

Is Seasonal Wellness Just an Eastern Mystery?

You may have noticed this yourself.

When the seasons shift, your body shifts too.

For example, as winter turns into spring, many people feel a clear rise in energy. There is more vitality, more movement, more restlessness. At the same time, you might also feel unusually sleepy, a little irritable, or even a sense of tightness in the chest, as if something feels slightly blocked.

In China, when these changes happen, people naturally adjust their diet, tea choices, and daily routines to support the body.

There is a common saying: eat according to the season.

  • Spring bamboo shoots.
  • Summer melons.
  • Autumn pears.
  • Winter radish.

These foods are not unavailable at other times of the year. But when eaten in their proper season, the body tends to feel more at ease.

The core idea of traditional Chinese wellness is simple: follow the rhythm of nature instead of resisting it.

When we move with seasonal changes rather than pushing against them, the body stays in a more balanced and comfortable state.

Wellness in this sense is not mysterious or overly complicated. It is not medical treatment, and it is not aimed at curing a specific illness.

Rather, it is a long-term, gentle way of adjusting daily life as a whole.

The food you choose, your sleep schedule, how much you move, small habits that you repeat consistently.

All of these are part of wellness.

In modern fast-paced life, many of us have gradually drifted away from natural rhythms. Irregular meals, staying up late, long hours of sitting, and diets high in fat and sugar slowly weaken the body’s overall condition.

This imbalance often becomes more noticeable when the seasons change.

Through one cup of tea that is easy to drink and easy to continue, we want to help the body adapt more smoothly to seasonal changes. We hope to turn traditional Chinese folk wellness wisdom into something practical and accessible, a small daily ritual that anyone can enjoy.

Why Adjust Your Tea According to the Seasons?

The idea is simple: just as our bodies respond to the changing seasons, so can our tea choices.

For example, in the heat of summer, green tea can feel refreshing and cooling, helping you cope with the warm weather. As the air turns cooler, the smoky, nutty flavors of Wuyi rock tea might become more appealing. A warm cup of black tea or ripe pu-erh can bring a gentle, comforting warmth to the body.

We apply this same logic when designing each month’s tea selection.

For example, our “Spring Awakening” box for March and April:

  • Morning: fragrant jasmine tea to refresh and awaken the senses
  • Midday: aged chenpi Liubao tea, low in caffeine, to relieve heaviness and fatigue
  • Evening: a caffeine-free, classic spring three-flower herbal tea to support better sleep
  • The seasonal wellness guide also includes simple tips for diet and daily habits

Of course, this doesn’t mean green tea is off-limits in winter or black tea in summer. Depriving yourself of your favorite tea just because of the season doesn’t make sense.

The idea is simply that you can use tea to align with the rhythms of the year, enhancing your overall tea-drinking experience.

We believe that your enjoyment matters most.

If a cup of our tea can bring a moment of calm to your mind or a little comfort to your body, then it has fulfilled its greatest purpose.
