Oolong Tea Flavor Exploration Collection 100g

i'm only a couple of decades in, as far as tea-drinking, and yet there are many varieties i've never had the pleasure of trying in my own home.there were options in this set i'd never tried, and some i've had and liked, others i've had and didn't care for.the individually-wrapped nature of the pieces means i can share with friends!i also really appreciated that the ideal water temperatures are included - because that matters.sadly this gift didn't arrive in exactly giftable condition, but since it was for me that's fine.

I wanted to try some new oolong teas, and this variety pack was a convenient way to do that. First off, this is not a set of teabags, they are a little bricks that you break off pieces from to brew your tea. I had no problem using them! The teas ranged from floral to more earthy, so I was able to try some new things. The tea is a good quality and brews up nicely. I’d say it’s a good value if you’re looking to try multiple types of oolong tea. I love that there are descriptions for all of the teas for all you nerdy tea people out there! There's also instructions on the best way to brew, it talks about the different oxidation levels, just really cool facts and it was perfect for me as I recently discovered how much I love oolong tea and really wanted to dive deeper into it. It's amazing how different the flavors are but they all taste amazing. I've been making hot tea and iced tea. The packaging is just beautiful as well.

First things first: Do not make the mistake I did and assume that one packet is like one teabag! The first couple times I made tea from this set I put all the tea from one packet in an unbleached fiber tea bag and made about 16 ounces of tea, and it was way too strong and bitter. I do typically make a much larger amount from a regular teabag, at least 16 and often 32 or 40 ounces, so I was surprised at how strong this was. I'm usually not one to check and follow specific tea brewing instructions but I realized I was probably meant to use less of the tea cake or way more water. I added more water after the fact but I suspect the resulting brew isn't as good as using the proper amount in the first place.The packets each contain 5g of tea in a flat cake form, so it's easy to break off a smaller amount. I recommend using no more than half the packet at a time the first time you try one of the different oolongs. I drink a lot of loose leaf Chinese teas but this set has several I haven't even heard of much less tasted. Thus far I've made the Lightly Roasted Tieguanyin, the Oriental Beauty, and the Fenghuang Dancong. I really enjoyed two of the three, though I found the Oriental Beauty had a flavor surprisingly similar to that name brand that's been around in the US for decades and sells very basic black tea in tea bags in mass quantities. It's not bad but doesn't meet the standard I expect from better quality teas.I'm looking forward to trying all 10 of the teas in this sampler and experimenting a bit with brewing time and the tea-to-water ratio. I recommend this product to any black tea fans out there.

This box was amazing. It's perfect if you want to start enjoying oolong. The packaging is well done, and each variety comes in two individual 5-gram packets, which is very convenient for taking your tea everywhere.
I also liked that it included two of each variety. In my opinion, one is never enough to fully enjoy it.
Last but not least, one of the aspects I enjoyed most was that the package includes a very useful and comprehensive informational manual. This manual helps you understand all the differences that soil, tea variety, roast level, oxidation, and altitude bring to each oolong.

This is a wonderful sampler collection and could make a great gift for a new or experienced tea drinker. I like that the product comes with a small pamphlet that describes some basic background of each type of tea. Each packet of tea also has helpful notes on how to prep the tea. The tea comes in a dehydrated condensed biscuit form and can be broken into the desired portion which works well with the chart on the packaging. The tea leaves are full leaves that expand immediately when steeped with boiling water. They can be steeped multiple times as guided by the chart.

I loved exploring all of these teas! The box features a wide variety of oolongs, compressed into mini cakes and individually packaged. This allows the teas to be enjoyed leisurely at home or packed along on an adventure. The oolongs range from light and creamy to roasted with notes of honey and fruit. I'm a floral kind of girl, so the Osmanthus Oolong and Jasmine Oolong were my favorites! The box also comes with a pamphlet of information on each tea - their origin, cultivar, elevation, soil type, harvest date, and more! I would recommend this sampler not only to beginners, but to anyone who enjoys a variety of teas!

This was a fantastic set of ten oolongs. If you're newer to oolongs, this would be the perfect place to start. There aren't any "hard to brew" teas in this set--you can easily brew them either in the traditional gongfu style or western style. You get a little bit of everything in this set--floral, honey, toasty, light, dark. I loved every tea in this set, especially the jasmine and the osmanthus. Overall, a fantastic set. I also love how the set was packaged, and how they were all the perfect portion. Highly recommend this one!!

I absolutely loved this oolong beginners box! I really enjoyed exploring all the ranges of oolong tea - from light bodied and delicate, to floral and sweet, to lightly toasted, to one scented with jasmine, to full bodied and deeply roasted, to rock oolong. I don’t have much experience with oolong teas, so this was a real treat for me to try! I love how there’s enough tea of each type to have multiple cups and you can get multiple infusions out of each cup! The packaging of the box also is so pretty and well thought out. It would look beautiful on a kitchen shelf or a tea hutch! I would recommend this to anyone who is curious about trying oolong teas but doesn’t know where to start.

The beginner oolong box is a great way to discover oolongs. My favorite was the jasmine oolong it was so flavorful with just the right amount of jasmine flavor. Second favorite was the Fenghuang dancong it was beautiful. I highly recommend this sample box because you just can’t beat 20 samples for $20. Also, the packaging is very travel friendly and you could just stick one of the little samples in your purse and you’re good to go.

lovely teas - the oolong tea collection. nicely packaged, nicely presented, and fun to experiment with. I have not yet found “my tea” but I am enjoying the cup of exploration.

This is so much cooler than I was expecting. The packets themselves have brewing information on them that is incredibly useful if you're not a grandmaster tea brewer, but the coolest part is the CARDS that come with it that talk about where each tea is from and how it's processed and the cards also have brewing info on them so even after you've used the teas, you have the cards to remember your favorites with so you can restock in quantity. I got this to take when I travel, but it would make SUCH a cool gift to a tea lover.

So I got these on a lark, along with a beautiful tea set, for us to try after our Sunday dinners. I'm not a fan of tea to start with, but I love these. My mother is a 'sweet tea only' type person and even she enjoyed it. Every Sunday, 4 generations gather at my mother's for a pot-luck dinner. We had a wonderful time after today's dinner, trying 2 of the different teas. They were "brewed" in a porcelain Gawain according to the directions included in the box. Even my son-in-laws got in on the tea tasting. We re-steeped the tea 4 times each, but the flavor was fresh and delightful each time. There's a wide variety for us to try and 2 packets of each type. Definitely a great value and something I do believe we'll be adding to our Sunday gatherings from here out.

These teas were a perfect gift for my husband. The variety was wonderful with every single tea having a lovely smell and taste.

This is a delicious, interesting and educational tea product. It has been fun going through the teas from different regions around China. The tea is foil wrapped, 2 packets of each variety. It comes as a solid pressed rectangular thin block. While the directions imply to use the entire amount for a pot of tea, brewing in a large mug requires half of the block for my taste. Amazingly, that small piece unfurls into a huge quantity of large leaves. You can brew the leaves again for a milder cup. Each tea is unique, mostly mild, no bitterness and always flavorful and delicious. While each is different from the next, it would be hard to pick a favorite. I loved them all. This would make an excellent gift for someone who loves oolong and would like to explore regional differences.
