Jasmine Tea Discovery Set: Shape

Prior to tasting this set, I was at best indifferent to jasmine. Jasmine teas I'd tried previously tasted too heavily floral, had an aftertaste, or came across as perfumey.
iTeaWorld changed that for me, and I now regularly drink jasmine tea (as long as it's from iTeaWorld!) Their jasmine scented teas taste incredibly fresh and maintain a lovely floral quality without tasting artificial, bitter, etc.
My favorite from the sampler set was Maiden Rings, followed by Silver Needle, and then Bi Luo Chun. I thoroughly enjoyed each variety and loved learning about the differences between them. These comparison sets are so fun for all sorts of tea lovers. As an advanced tea drinker, it was a fun challenge to pay attention to the nuances, similarities, and differences. I'd highly recommend this sampler to anyone looking to elevate their tea drinking experience and learn something new!

I brewed each tea according to the package directions, and every cup came out smooth and free of bitterness. The sampler does an excellent job of demonstrating how different green teas can complement jasmine in unique ways while remaining consistently smooth, fragrant, and enjoyable.

Jasmine Black Beauty offered the boldest flavor of the collection, pairing a gentle earthiness with rich floral jasmine notes that lingered pleasantly after each sip. The long leaves and stems, along with its beautiful amber liquor, reflected the tea's excellent quality.

Jasmine Silver Needle was the most delicate of the group. As it steeped, the long, slender leaves reminded me of tiny seahorses gently drifting through the water, making the brewing process almost as enjoyable as drinking it. The tea itself was light, silky, and elegant, with a clean finish and a soft jasmine flavor that would appeal even to those who normally shy away from green tea.

Jasmine Maiden's Ring was perhaps the most visually captivating. The hand-rolled rings slowly unfurled during steeping, resembling fiddlehead ferns or the scroll of a violin. Brewed in a clear teapot, they're a joy to watch. In the cup, the tea was smooth and mellow with balanced vegetal notes, fragrant jasmine, a lingering sweetness, and just a hint of fruitiness.

Jasmine Bi Luo Chun (Pearl Tea) features tightly rolled pearls that slowly unfurl as they steep, releasing an inviting jasmine aroma. This was one of the more jasmine-forward teas in the sampler, yet the floral character never overwhelmed the tea itself. The grassy, earthy notes of the green tea paired beautifully with the bright jasmine, creating a bold yet well-balanced cup.

Jasmine Mao Feng rounded out the sampler with an especially refined profile. Its beautiful amber liquor and delicate character allowed both the fresh jasmine blossoms and the tea's natural sweetness to shine. The finish carried a subtle melon-like sweetness with very little of the grassiness often associated with green tea, making it exceptionally smooth and elegant. It's easy to see why Mao Feng is considered such a celebrated premium Chinese green tea.

One thing I especially appreciated about this sampler was how each tea highlighted a different aspect of jasmine green tea—from bold and aromatic to delicate and refined—while maintaining exceptional quality throughout. The beautiful whole leaves, captivating brewing experience, and thoughtfully balanced flavors made every cup enjoyable. I'd happily recommend this sampler to both longtime jasmine tea lovers and anyone looking to discover just how varied and nuanced jasmine green tea can be.
