Osmanthus Oolong is made using traditional scenting methods by mixing fresh osmanthus flowers with aged aroma Tieguanyin. This classic Chinese floral tea perfectly combines the rich taste of oolong with the sweet, delicate fragrance of osmanthus.

Jasmine Oolong blends fresh jasmine flowers with light aroma Tieguanyin, allowing the tea to absorb the natural floral fragrance. The more times it is scented with jasmine, the stronger the floral aroma. When brewed, it offers a delicate floral scent paired with the rich, sweet flavor of Tieguanyin.

Light Aroma Tieguanyin

Tieguanyin oolong tea is one of China’s top ten famous teas. It comes in different styles like light aroma, strong aroma, and aged aroma. This product is the light aroma Tieguanyin, with the lightest oxidation and roasting. It’s perfect for beginners, featuring a distinct orchid fragrance, smooth tea liquor, fresh taste, and stays mellow without bitterness or astringency even after multiple infusions.

Strong Aroma Tieguanyin

This strong aroma Tieguanyin is traditionally pan-fired and medium roasted. Before the 1970s, most exported Tieguanyin from China was of this type. It boasts a pure fragrance with a rich, thick, and smooth flavor. The medium roast also helps with longer shelf life.

Fenghuang Dancong – Milanxiang

Fenghuang Dancong is Guangdong’s most famous oolong tea. The most authentic comes from Fenghuang Town, while the Raoping variety offers better value. Known for its natural floral fragrance, Milanxiang is one of the most popular aroma types in China.

Fenghuang Dancong – Yashixiang

Yashixiang is a type of Fenghuang Dancong oolong with a silver flower fragrance reminiscent of honeysuckle. The most authentic is from Pingkengtou village in Fengxi, Fenghuang Mountain. It has a rich and lasting aroma and is the most widely planted Fenghuang Dancong variety in China.

Dahongpao（big red robe oolong）

Known as the "King of Wuyi Tea," this commercial Dahongpao is a blend of two or more Wuyi rock teas, usually based on Rougui and Shuixian. When brewed, it releases a rich and elegant aroma reminiscent of musk and floral honey.

Rougui

Rougui is a key Wuyi rock tea variety named after its cinnamon-like aroma. It has a strong, lingering fragrance with a distinct spicy note.

Wuyi Shuixian

Shuixian is one of the signature Wuyi rock teas, originally from Jian’ou in Fujian province. Combined with Wuyi’s traditional processing, it delivers a smooth mouthfeel with layered roasted and floral aromas. Older tea trees produce a richer and mellower flavor.

Also known as Baihao Oolong or Champagne Oolong, this tea has the highest oxidation level among oolongs. It must be made from fresh leaves bitten by the green leafhopper. It features a unique aroma with rich ripe fruit and honey notes.

A little box to discover the basics

This box comes in a perfect format with mini tea cakes perfect for traveling. I love that there are two packets of each type, so beginners like me can try again if they make mistakes while steeping, or can try different ways of brewing tea. The overall quality is perfect for a beginner and makes discovering the most famous varieties of Oolong easy. In the back of each packet there are brewing instructions, but you might want to lower the water temperature for greener Oolongs according to your taste. I really recommend this box and I think it would fit perfectly for a gift to someone who's new to tea but also wants to dive deeper.

Delicious and practical

This box was amazing. It's perfect if you want to start enjoying oolong. The packaging is well done, and each variety comes in two individual 5-gram packets, which is very convenient for taking your tea everywhere.
I also liked that it included two of each variety. In my opinion, one is never enough to fully enjoy it.
Last but not least, one of the aspects I enjoyed most was that the package includes a very useful and comprehensive informational manual. This manual helps you understand all the differences that soil, tea variety, roast level, oxidation, and altitude bring to each oolong.

Best Way To Discover Oolongs

I loved exploring all of these teas! The box features a wide variety of oolongs, compressed into mini cakes and individually packaged. This allows the teas to be enjoyed leisurely at home or packed along on an adventure. The oolongs range from light and creamy to roasted with notes of honey and fruit. I'm a floral kind of girl, so the Osmanthus Oolong and Jasmine Oolong were my favorites! The box also comes with a pamphlet of information on each tea - their origin, cultivar, elevation, soil type, harvest date, and more! I would recommend this sampler not only to beginners, but to anyone who enjoys a variety of teas!
