Huangshan Maofeng Green Tea – High Mountain Chinese Green Tea with Orchid Aroma

Huangshan Maofeng is one of the most renowned green teas in China, grown in the designated regions around Huangshan (Yellow Mountain) in Anhui Province.

This tea stands out for its elegant appearance—fine white hairs cover the leaves, and the bud tips stand upright like mountain peaks, which inspired its name “Maofeng,” meaning “Fur Peak.”

It delivers a refreshing green tea aroma, a subtle orchid fragrance, and a naturally sweet, smooth taste, making it a classic choice for both tea enthusiasts and newcomers.

Why Choose Huangshan Maofeng Tea?

  • High Mountain Origin: Harvested from 60-year-old tea trees at 800 meters altitude, grown in mineral-rich pebble soil—ideal for producing rich, complex flavors.

  • Traditional Craftsmanship: Carefully processed by tea masters using time-honored methods to lock in freshness and preserve the tea’s delicate orchid notes.

  • Perfect for Green Tea Beginners: This tea is smooth, lightly floral, and never bitter—even with longer steeps—making it one of the best Chinese green teas for daily drinking.

  • Excellent Value: Offers the ideal balance between quality and price, curated for those looking to explore authentic Chinese teas without overpaying.

  • Clean Taste, Lasting Aroma: Unlike roasted green teas, Huangshan Maofeng highlights the pure taste of tea leaves and subtle floral undertones.

The aroma and flavor are first class!

I have high expectations of tea quality and this Huangshan Mao Feng (Loose Leaf Tea) fully met my expectations! I've bought other teas from iTeaworld before and the service and packaging was excellent, and this was no exception. The aroma of this Huangshan Mao Feng is exceptionally long-lasting, with light fruity and floral notes that are pleasant to smell. The mouthfeel is smooth and the aftertaste is great, without any bitterness or astringency. I usually brew it in a covered bowl and savor it, which is very enjoyable. Compared with other green teas, this Huangshan Mao Feng has a stronger aroma and a mellower flavor, definitely Best Loose Leaf Tea!

I've been a tea drinker for years

I've been a tea drinker for years, and I've had all kinds of green teas, including Japanese matcha. But this Huangshan Maofeng (Classic Chinese Green Tea - Huangshan Maofeng) really wowed me! I've bought other teas from iTeaworld a couple of times before, and the quality and service is nothing to write home about, and this Huangshan Maofeng is just as great! The tea leaves are beautiful to look at, with tender buds and leaves and bright green color. I used a purple clay pot to brew, the water temperature is about 85 degrees, the first brewing about a minute, and then slowly increase the time. The flavor is very mellow, light fruity and floral, the sweetness is very obvious, not bitter at all, the taste is particularly elegant. I usually drink it during afternoon tea with some cupcakes or cookies, and I feel especially comfortable. Compared with other green teas on the website, this Huangshan Mao Feng has a longer-lasting aroma and a mellower flavor, and is much more refreshing and less heavy than matcha. Definitely Best Loose Leaf Tea!

My first experience with Chinese tea!

This is my first time to try Chinese tea, which I previously thought was complicated and difficult to brew. However, this Huangshan Mao Feng (Chinese Tea) completely changed my mind! I've bought other teas from iTeaworld before, and I feel that their website has a simple design and detailed product descriptions, making it easy to choose. This Huangshan Mao Feng is easy to brew, hot water for a few minutes and it tastes fresh, a little sweet and goes down well. I usually drink it in the afternoon and feel very relaxed. Highly recommended for those who want to try Chinese tea!
