The leaves of this Loose Leaf Tea are plump and bright green in color, and it smells of fresh grass and wood. When brewed, the tea is turquoise and fresh in the mouth, with a pronounced sweet aftertaste that is better than many Japanese green teas I've had! I usually brew it in a delicate covered bowl with water temperature controlled at about 80 degrees and savor it. The taste of this tea is very unique, and compared to other green teas, it is mellower, more resistant to brewing, and has a longer aftertaste. Highly recommended!!!

On the first sip, the tea is rich yet refreshing with a slight sweetness that is really refreshing. Compared to the matcha I had before, this Ancient Tree Green Tea has a much more subtle and layered flavor and is definitely one of the best of the teas.

I usually drink it in the morning with a simple serving of oatmeal, perfect to start the day.
